Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain is reportedly attracting concrete interest from the Barcelona camp.
Reports emerging from Italy suggest that the Catalan club have made an offer worth €55 million to acquire the Argentine’s services.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that although the figure is substantial considering that the 26-year-old arrived for €40 million just a year ago, Partenopei president Aurelio de Laurentiis has allegedly deemed El Pipita indispensable unless he receives a €70 million bid.
It is also reported that De Laurentiis plans to propose a new contract which will see Higuain’s current salary rise in excess of €500,000 so that a release clause of €70 million can be inserted.
In his debut Serie A campaign, the former Real Madrid man netted 17 times and created seven goals in just 31 appearances.
