The Primavera finals are certainly off to a sublime start, two five goal thrillers being served up on just the first day of action from Rimini.

In the first match on Wednesday evening, Lazio and Roma went head to head in a Derby della Capitale clash.

Matteo Adamo and Tommaso Taviani had put the Giallorossi 2-0 in front and looking good for the victory before Josip Elez pulled one back before the half time whistle sounded.

Eleven minutes after the break they were level when the somewhat controversial Joseph Minala levelled and, the momentum with them, Alessandro Murgia fired home the winner in the closing stages.

The other semi-final was equally dramatic between Group B’s Atalanta and the victors of Group A outfit Torino by putting another 3-2 thriller.

Janis Cavagna put La Dea ahead and although Lorenzo Coccolo equalised for Toro two minutes before the break, they succumbed to another Atalanta strike before the break when Federico Varano hit the back of the net.

On 79 minutes, the Granata got back on level terms through Andrea Ientile before a brilliant goal from captain Emanuel Gyasi sent Toro to the semi-finals.
