Sunderland are the latest club to show interest in signing Bologna’s Greek midfielder Panagiotis Kone.
The 26-year-old has also recently been linked with moves to Serie A sides Lazio, Palermo and Torino as the player looks almost certain to make an immediate return to top flight football following the Rossoblu’s relegation to Serie B.
According to a report in Corriere di Bologna, Sunderland are ready to offer €4 million for the Greece international’s services and he is keen to make the move.
Kone is part of the Greece squad that has reached the last-16 of the World Cup for the first time in their history where they will face Costa Rica.
The former Brescia man has been with Bologna since 2011, when he first joined on loan before making the move permanent the following summer.
