West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Lazio defender Luis Pedro Cavanda during the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who came up through the Aquilotti youth system and began his professional career with the club in 2010, has been linked with a possible move to one of several Premier League sides in recent weeks including West Ham, Hull City and Sunderland, though the Hammers may be the frontrunners in securing his services before the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
According to Sky Sport Italia 24, West Ham have been searching for a defender with the same playing style as the Belgian and may begin their pursuit of the Biancocelesti man in the near future.
Cavanda’s agent has also hinted at his client’s departure from Lazio this summer and told the press that a renewal with the capital city club seems unlikely.
“The possibility that he’ll remain with Lazio is a very small one,” said agent Ulisse Savini. “Moving to a team in a different country will be the primary objective.”
