AC Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi believes Mario Balotelli will stay at the club.

Balotelli has been linked with a move away from the Rossoneri, with rumours emerging that English giants Arsenal are ready to meet Milan’s asking price for the player.

Speaking in a press conference, Inzaghi said that he believes Balotelli will stay at the club, whilst also saying that the Italian international is an important player in the setup.

“I am calm,” he said. “Mario is an important player and I will try to help him improve.

“I will reset everything that has been said about him, I have no problem with him; I have to make the most of his ability.

“Will he leave? The club will decide; if he leaves then we will need a replacement because the centre-forwards are him and [Giampaolo] Pazzini.

“However, I believe that he will remain here”.

When asked about his priorities in the transfer window, the former striker said that vice-president Adriano Galliani knows what the squad lacks.

“[Adriano] Galliani knows what I want” he said. “We still need reinforcements to reach the level of Juventus, Napoli, and Roma.

“We also have so many young players coming up, so we must be patient”.

The World Cup winner then spoke about the club’s pre-season preparations, saying that the atmosphere at the club helps the side to work well.

“I’m glad with what I’ve seen lately,” he said. “We are slowly improving, and maybe in the upcoming games we’ll try another game plan.

“I’m very happy because we have worked well, the atmosphere at the club helps us to do so”.

It is also worth mentioning that the Rossoneri are set to partake in the 2014 International Champions Cup this summer with their first match kicking off in Toronto on Thursday against Greek champions Olympiacos.
