AC Milan forward Robinho will not be returning to Brazilian club Santos, but is the subject of an offer from cTigres of Mexico.

The 30-year-old had been tipped to rejoin the club he left in 2005 after being spotted on holiday in Sao Paulo, but the Santos president has confirmed that this will not be the case because the player’s wages are too high.

“Robinho has spent his holidays in the city and this has been noticed by fans,” president Odilio Rodrigues Filho told atribuna.com.br.

“He has a wonderful history with Santos and is an idol.

“This has meant that he has been linked with a possible return to the club, but there’s no chance.

“The difficulty is that he has a salary that is outside of reality for Brazilian football. The salary of Robinho is out of reach.”

In other developments, Tuttomercatoweb reports that Mexican outfit Tigres made an official enquiry on Tuesday for the Brazilian as they look to replace star forward Alan Pulido, who is likely to leave the club.

The 2011 Mexican champions are said to see the potential transfer as representing a big coup for the club in order to increase their status outside of Central America.

A return to Brazil for the former Real Madrid man may not yet be off the cards though as Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Atletico Mineiro have all expressed an interest in the player, while a move to the United States to link up with former teammate Kaka at Orlando City has also been mooted.

Robinho is believed to have been deemed surplus to requirements at Milan this season by new coach Filippo Inzaghi and chief executive Adriano Galliani and looks certain to leave after scoring only seven goals in the last two seasons for the Rossoneri.
