Lazio are mulling whether to accept a cash plus player exchange offer from AC Milan for goalkeeper Federico Marchetti.

New Milan boss Filippo Inzaghi is after a new goalkeeper for this season and has pinpointed the former Azzurri shot-stopper as the man for the job.

Il Messagerro reports that Milan have made a €7.5 million offer (paid over three installments) plus the services of new arrival Michael Agazzi, who is unwanted by Inzaghi, to Lazio for the services of Marchetti.

It remains to be seen whether Lazio president Claudio Lotito accepts the offer, but it may be too hard to turn down as Lazio could use the money to seek out reinforcements in other positions.

Marchetti made 17 league appearances for the Biancocelesti last season.
