Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella’s has stated that his side’s 1-0 victory over Belgium was their best performance of the World Cup as they now prepare for a semi-final matchup against Netherlands or Costa Rica on July 9.

Sabella was pleased with his team’s win thanks to an early goal from Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain who’s goal after eight minutes sent the Albiceleste to their first semi-final appearance since 1990..

“There’s great happiness for the whole team, for the fans, for my family and for all of Argentina,” the 59 year old Buenos Aires native told reporters after the match.

“Our performance? It was our best in terms of the balance and play.”

However the news is not all good as Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria was forced to leave the match early in the first half, something that Sabella is worried about.

“It is a pity for [Angel]Di Maria. It could cost Argentina a lot.”
