Arsenal and Inter in race to sign Hoffenheim star

Inter and Arsenal have jumped into the race to sign Hoffenheim’s highly acclaimed youngster Roberto Firmino.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly kept tabs on the Brazilian midfielder for months and could be set to launch a bid despite competition from the north London side.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Inter have stepped up their efforts to sign the 22-year-old and are keen to land him on loan in view of making a deal permanent next year.

However it is thought that Hoffenheim are only be willing to listen to offers for a permanent transfer after Arsenal tabled a bid in the region of € 8-10 million.

Firmino, whose contract with the German side runs until 2017, finished the 2013–14 Bundesliga season tied as the fourth highest scorer with 16 goals.
