Arsenal may use Costa Rican World Cup star Joel Campbell in a bid to lower the price for AC Milan superstar Mario Balotelli.

Campbell is coming off the back of a fantastic World Cup for his country, scoring one goal, and is valued at around the €10 million mark by his club, and new Milan coach Filippo Inzaghi seen as a keen admirer of the players quality and workrate.

Subsequent to this, Tuttosport believe that Arsenal will include Campbell in any bid for Balotelli, and with speculation that Milan are willing to sell the controversial striker for less than €20 million, it could lead to a cut price deal for the Gunners.

The Rossoneri would see such a deal as acceptable, given Campbell’s wages would be nearly half as much as is currently being payed to Balotelli.

One drawback to any deal would be the fact that Campbell does not currently hold an EU passport meaning he would take up the second and only remaining non-EU spot left in Milan’s squad, with recent signing Alex holding the other spot.
