Davide Astori has admitted he could write a novel to thank Cagliari and it’s fans after the defender left the club to join Roma.
The 27-year-old completed his move from the Sardinian club to Roma on Thursday for an initial fee of €2 million for a one-year loan with the option to buy, and has flown to join his new teammates in the United States where they are participating in the Guinness International Champions Cup.
Speaking to Cagliari’s official website, he said, “I could write a novel, but instead I’ll just use a few words to thank all the people who helped me during these extraordinary six years at Cagliari.
“I thank the fans who have struggled and suffered with us and also my teammates, the club as a whole and my family.
“I begin a new adventure now, but my heart will always be with you.”
