Atalanta have signed 21-year-old Juventus striker Richmond Boakye on loan.

The Ghanaian spent the 2013-14 season on loan at La Liga side Elche in an attempt to aid his development with increased playing time and he scored six times from 31 appearances, 12 of which were starts.

It has been confirmed on the Lega Serie A website that Boakye is registered as an Atlanta loan player for the 2014-15 Serie A season.

An increase in competition for places due to new signings at Elche reportedly convinced Boakye to look for a return to Italy and Stefano Colantuono’s Nerazzurri were willing to offer him the chance to establish himself as a Serie A player in what is the fourth loan move of his career.

The Ghanaian international previously enjoyed successful loan spells with Sassuolo in Serie B that convinced Juve to sign him on a co-ownership deal from Genoa but he is yet to feature for the Old Lady and he has only made six Serie A appearances that came during his time with the Grifone.
