Luiz Felipe Scolari has not yet decided about his future as  Brazil coach and has admitted that he will decide once the World Cup finishes.

The Selecao were decimated 7-1 in their semi-final fixture against Germany and that result has put a lot of pressure on Scolari despite the support of Brazilian football federation president Jose Maria Marin.

Scolari stated at his pre-match press conference prior to the Selecao’s encounter with Netherlands that he will be submitting a report to the Brazilian federation before having a discussion regarding his future.

My work began in 2013 and will end at the last game of this World Cup, admitted Scolari. I will provide a report to the CBF directors later and perhaps discuss a new cycle with them.

They will see what is right or wrong. I know that in a year and a half we had a lot of very good results. I do not know how people can only see the outcome of a game and come to a conclusion.

“But, I do not want an apology or any justification regarding this because the president wanted to reach the final and we have not been able to reach the final. I am indebted to those who believed in me.

“A normal result would have been a victory over Germany. The defeat was historic as we conceded a large number of goals and I will always be the manager associated with this defeat. We had six minutes of a dead halt and that is not what we imagined.

“However, since the Confederations Cup, we have won nine and lost only one. We had a system of play and we were calm. Let’s also not forget that after 2002, this was our first semi-final.

We could have gone further but we did not and I see this result as a catastrophe.

The 65 year old tactician also spoke about the changes that he would be making against the Dutch.

I am not going to talk about who will play on Saturday against Netherlands. I will make one or two changes with regards to the team who started against Germany.

Out of necessity, I could make two or three substitutions. I will not select any player unless he has complete confidence of being able to win the game. I used Marcelo in training as a false left-sided striker to imitate [Arjen] Robben who was the best at the World Cup.

On the second day after losing to Germany, we tried to recover the psychological aspect by giving details to a few players so that they could take on Netherlands as if it were our primary objective. We worked on this and to develop the confidence of the players.

We have to come in with the full conviction to be able to win third place to give a little bit of joy to our fans. We are working with optimism. We are now going to work for the game on Saturday which also is going to be an important step.

I am also not going to talk about the climate especially with journalists. If you knew the support we received in the streets, you would think differently.

We are now working for a new dream of winning third place.

Scolari also laid out his plans to settle affairs in his personal life.

I am going to settle my personal affairs that I have placed aside over the last forty five days to prepare this team to play in a World Cup.

“I’m going to talk to my family and explain the situations such as how I behaved with players and the public. Then we shall wait and see what happens.

“Nothing will be the same because what I have experienced has added a lot to my life.
