Brazil’s Dani Alves: Defeat to Germany was the post painful of my career

Brazil defender Dani Alves has admitted that Brazil’s stunning 7-1 defeat to Germany was the worst hes experienced as a player.

The Blaugrana defender was not selected by Luiz Felipe Scolari in favour of Roma’s Maicon, and despite not featuring, Alves stated the defeat was still hard to comprehend.

“It is the most painful defeat of my career, and it was a lesson [from] a great [footballing] nation,” he told reporters after the match as reported by tuttomercatoweb.com.

“In 31 years of my life I have never seen six minutes like that.”

“Scolari’s future? That is not [the players] decision.”

Alves made four appearances for the Selecao at the World Cup but did not feature following the sides victory over Chile in the Round of 16.
