Cardiff  City chairman Mehmet Dalman has said that the club will not “take a loss” on Inter target Gary Medel.

The Chilean international has been heavily linked to Inter of late, but the Nerazzurri are reportedly unwilling to match Cardiff’s €12 million asking price for the player.

Speaking to WalesOnline, Dalman said that the club are not going to sell Medel for a cut price, whilst also maintaining that they have yet to reach an agreement with any side.

“We are not going to take a loss on a player who was a World Cup star in Brazil,” he said. “We have made it clear what our price is and that won’t change.

“We will do the right thing for Cardiff City and the player; our position has not changed.

“There are clubs interested in him, but we have not reached an agreement with anybody so far.”

It is also worth mentioning that Medel started all four of Chile’s games at the 2014 FIFA World Cup where they were knocked out by hosts Brazil in the Round of 16.
