Parma forward Antonio Cassano has stated that he wants his ex-team Inter to win Serie A but not for the sake of coach Walter Mazzarri.

The Italian international talked at length about a range of issues including Parma’s exclusion from the Europa League and Italy’s disappointing World Cup campaign while revealing who he hopes will win the Scudetto next season.

“I hope Inter win the Scudetto, but not for the coach [Mazzarri],” Cassano told the Italian media.

“We are all very angry at Parma because of what happened last season. I want to take back what they took from me.

“I do not know where we will finish next season but when we play we will be very angry.”

Cassano went on to discuss Italy’s group stage exit at this summer’s World Cup in Brazil and insisted that ex-coach Cesare Prandelli was not to blame for the Azzurri’s failure.

“I can only thank him.

“In four years he did an outstanding job not just for me but for the whole team, then we had a bad couple of weeks.

“We were all to blame. Prandelli got all the blame but I suppose that is Italy.

“People had fun throwing dirt on me and Gianluigi Buffon but there were no groups in the camp.

“I had a close relationship with Gigi, from the beginning I told him that I was happy to be part of the squad, even if I was not going to play every minute”

The ex- Roma and Real Madrid striker finished by dismissing reports that he will leave Parma this summer.

“At Parma I have found a lot of good people

“Money does not matter to me. Parma is my Barcelona and most importantly I feel calm here.”
