Conte makes call to convince Iturbe of Juventus move

With reigning Serie A champions Juventus keen to clinch the signing of Hellas Verona attacker Juan Iturbe, it has been reported that coach Antonio Conte to the decision to personally call the Argentinean in the hope that it would help secure his signature.

The 21-year-olds stunning form last term for the promoted Gialloblu as they ended the season in 10th had drawn interest from a number of clubs and he had also been thought to be considering a switch to fellow Serie A club AC Milan.

However, according to Corriere Veneto, the Bianconeri coach’s call to relay his appreciation and confidence in the youngsters ability was actually not required with Iturbe already deciding to accept the Old Lady’s offer of a five-year contract worth €1.5m a year.

The former Porto man is now merely waiting for the two clubs to agree on the details of his transfer and will then make his way to Turin for the new season.
