New Inter defender Dodo has revealed that he’s ready to work hard for the Biscione and feels that he has grown a lot as both a player and a person during his time in Italy.

The 22-year-old left back, who recently completed his move to the Nerazzurri after spending two years at Roma, understands that he and his team-mates have a lot of work to do ahead of the 2014-15 campaign, but insists that he’s up for the challenge.

Dodo spoke to Sky Sport Italia about his arrival to Inter and his mission to prove himself to coach Walter Mazzarri, while also admitting that he hopes to become as good as his idol Roberto Carlos was.

“I hope to become as important as Roberto Carlos was during his career,” said the Brazilian.

“I have found a serene environment here, everyone is also very motivated. We all hope to train well for this important season that’s approaching.

“Mazzarri uses the perfect tactics? We’ll only be able to tell if this is true in time and on the pitch.

“I have changed a lot as a person and a player. I have improved in many aspects on the field, but I have off of the pitch as well, like with my mentality.

“Compared to two years ago, I feel much more prepared. Tactically we still have to work hard, we want to be perfect in all of our movements.

“The collapse of Brazil? It may have only been one defeat, but we all still remain disappointed.”
