Bayern Munich and Barcelona are set to do battle over the signature of Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado.

The right winger combined with the Golden Boot winner James Rodriguez to help Colombia reach the 2014 World Cup quarter-finals where he finished as the tournament’s assist leader with four.

Bayern Munich have outbid Barcelona for the Colombian and Fiorentina are giving the Spanish giants a week to match their offer for the €42 million rated man, according the Catalan daily Sport. Despite claims by Andrea Della Valle, co-owner of Fiorentina, Cuadrado looks likely to be on the move this summer as he wants the transfer to take place, having already agreed a deal with the Catalans.

The versatile Cuadrado would be used as a replacement for Dani Alves by Barcelona, who has been linked with a move to AC Milan.
