Fiorentina LogoFiorentina have announced a partnership deal with Indian side Pune FC.

Former Bologna manager Franco Colomba, who is the new manager of Pune, will work with Fiorentina to build a project that passes over talent between clubs. Colomba believes that projects such as these will provide facilities to uncover talented players who lacked the resources to improve.

Fiorentina director of sport Daniele Prade said, “The Indians want to have a strong national team in a few years. We will make our experience available to them and start the project.”

Unlike similar projects, those involved denied that this will just be an opportunity for young Viola players to get first team action.

Technical director Eduardo Macia re-emphasised the club’s strategy to further globalise their brand, stating, “A football team needs to grow beyond the local level.”
