Walter Zenga has admitted he has held talks to become the new coach of the Serbian national team, but stated that no decision has been made on whether to accept the offer.

Current Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic resigned as the Serbian manager in February to take over at the Blucerchiati and was replaced by interim manager Ljubinko Drulovic, who had performed well in his four friendlies in charge of the side.

However, the Serbian FA are intent on qualifying for Euro 2016 and have been searching for an experienced coach to lead the charge and Zenga admitted in an interview with Radio Due that talks have taken place.

“There is a possibility that I could go to Serbia, we are in negotiaions,” Zenga stated.

“What does not convince me? I’ve always been a club coach and to go to a national team is completely different so you have to be one hundred percent sure you’ve made the right choice.”

Legendary goalkeeper Zenga has spent the last few years coaching in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
