PrandelliTurkish club Galatasaray have announced the hiring of former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli as the club’s new coach.

Prandelli led the Italian national team to the 2014 World Cup but the Azzurri failed to advance past the group stage, prompting his immediate resignation.

The 56-year-old signaled that he will be looking to usher in a new style for the club at his introductory press conference.

“Our mission is to create a winning team, able to win trophies and play an entertaining style of football,” Prandelli said.

“I’ve visited the technical centre, I think we have everything to work and perform well.

“To achieve success, every supporter, every player, every part of the club has to think the same way.  There are many good players already, we all have to work hard together.

“Our target is very clear, we want to win the domestic title and progress into the later stages of the UEFA Champions League.”

The former Roma and Fiorentina coach succeeds fellow Italian Roberto Mancini, who managed the club to a second place finish in the Super Lig and reached the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
