Roma coach Rudi Garcia has reiterated the club’s desire to keep hold of influential midfielder Kevin Strootman.

The Dutch international has long been rumoured to be a transfer target for Manchester United and the speculation has only increased following the appointment of his compatriot Louis van Gaal at the Premiership club.

The Giallorossi coach commented on the players recovery from long term injury, after suffering cruciate ligament damage in March, and stated they would only consider a sale if they were offered a ridiculous sum of money.

“He [Strootman] is well on the way to a full recovery,” Garcia told the press.

“A possible move to Manchester United? What can I say about these rumours? For a figure of more than €100 million we can sit down and talk about it.”
