Roma coach Rudi Garcia has said that the Giallorossi’s first match of the up-and-coming Serie A season against Fiorentina will provide a challenge for his team.
The fixtures for the 2014-15 Serie A season were released on Monday night, and although Garcia did not show clear praise or disdain for the overall fixture, he believes that facing the Gigliati in Week 1 won’t be easy.
“We don’t know if the schedule is good or not, but the first match is a great challenge,” Garcia told Sport Mediaset.
Roma director general Mauro Baldissoni had a different view on the fixtures, commenting that his players can face anybody on any given day but various factors still have to be taken into consideration.
“The schedule has a considerable impact but it depends on the conditions in which they face the opponents as well as the opponent in the same moment and I speak of form, injuries, suspensions and other factors,” Baldissoni said.
“It is useless to comment on the schedule.”
