Genoa have renewed their interest in taking Lazio midfielder Joseph Minala on loan after having a bid rejected by Biancocelesti earlier this month.

The 17-year-old Cameroonian is much sought after by several clubs and with his contract set to expire in 2016, teams are lining up to sign him.

According to LaLazioSiamoNoi.it, Minala and his agent are close to a contract extension that will see the player stay with the side until 2018. Regardless of the talks between Minala and Lazio, Genoa have returned to negotiate a loan deal for the midfielder.

Lazio have already stated the club are not interested in a sale at this time and additionally may not allow Minala to leave the club on loan this season.

With Genoa’s current preseason squad’s size, it is unexpected that Minala would get much playing time in Serie A this term.
