Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi hopes that both Antonio Cassano and Gabriel Paletta stay at Parma this summer.

Cassano and Paletta had a strong 2013-14 season in which Parma finished an impressive 6th. Cesare Prandelli chose them in his World Cup squad for Brazil and they have been linked with moves to Galatsaray and Lazio respectively.

“I’ve said many times, Cassano is an important player and I hope that will remain,” he told Tuttomercartoweb.

“[Parma sporting director Pietro] Leonardi is talking to him, I think the institutional part, but I’m proud of him and I am sure that he will stay.

“Paletta has had many offers, but that has been the case for the past two years. But no one has come up with the right offer and as long as this does not happen, he will remain with us.”

Parma were denied a place in the next season’s Europa League after losing their appeal against their UEFA licence being withheld by the FIGC due to financial irregularities, with Torino taking their place.
