Fiorentina centre forward Giuseppe Rossi has expressed his enthusiasm on the upcoming Serie A season in Italy.

The 27-year-old was left out by national team coach Cesare Prandelli for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, despite scoring an impressive 16 goals last season in an otherwise injury-hit campaign.

“I cannot wait to start again,” said the Italian according to www.tuttomercatoweb.com at Moena.

“I hope to start the season well and I hope I feel good physically.

“Then we will see about the personal goals and those of the team.”

Rossi also remained optimistic when questioned on his future with the Azzurri.

“The national team? Surely one of my goals is to get back into the team but first I want to concentrate and give my 100% to Fiorentina,” he concluded.

The United-States born striker previously played for Manchester United, Newcastle United and Villarreal.
