Inter are looking to bring Roma’s Mattia Destro back to the San Siro although they face stiff competition from Tottenham Hotspur and Wolfsburg.

With the recent signing of Juan Iturbe the 23-year-old could find his playing time limited despite scoring 13 goals in 20 appearances in the Serie A last season.

According to Il Giorno, Inter coach Walter Mazzarri has told the club to bid for the striker immediately, but a transfer will only go through once the Nerazzurri are able to offload either of Fredy Guarin or Ricardo Alvarez.

Destro had been a part of Inter’s youth set-up for five years between 2005 and 2010 before he moving to the Stadio Olimpico in 2012.
