Inter have arranged a meeting with Cardiff City to try and finalize an agreement for the transfer of Chilean midfielder Gary Medel.

The Nerazzuri have made Medel one of their primary transfer targets following a series of impressive performances at this summer’s World Cup and his availability following Cardiff’s relegation last season, but have struggled to get a deal over the line with an initial loan bid with an option to buy being rejected.

However, reports from Sky Sport Italia hint that an end may be in sight, with a meeting having been orgainsed to discuss the formalities of a transfer with the method of payment from the Nerazzurri the biggest hurdle left for the two clubs.

Medel seems intent on joining Inter and, according to reports, recently rejected approaches from the likes of Galatasaray in favour of a move to Milan with a reported fee of €7 million to be paid by the Nerazzurri up front, with €2 million due to be paid in bonuses.

If Medel does arrive he would become Inter’s fifth summer signing after Nemanja Vidic, Dodo, Tommaso Berni and Yann M’Vila.
