Inter have reportedly reignited their interest in Napoli midfielder Valon Behrami after suffering a setback in their pursuit of Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel.
The Nerazzurri had previously set their sights on the Partenopei man earlier in the transfer window but had begun monitoring Medel instead after his impressive World Cup performances for Chile, though it seems Cardiff are unwilling to accept the San Siro outfit’s proposal for him.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter may now be willing to pay Behrami’s worth of around €10 million instead as coach Walter Mazzarri is still fond of reuniting with the Swiss international after spending the 2012-13 season together at Napoli.
The former Fiorentina man has also been linked with a move to German club Hamburg ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.
Behrami arrived at Napoli from the Viola in 2012 and has made a total of 54 Serie A appearances for the Neapolitan side thus far.
