Kurt ZoumaChelsea center back Kurt Zouma could join Inter on loan next season, though they face strong competition from around Europe.

The 19 year old Frenchman, was signed by Chelsea for €15 million from Saint-Étienne in January but was subsequently loaned back to the French club.

According to the London Evening Standard, Piero Ausilio has asked to take the player on loan next season as Chelsea feel he needs another year to develop.

Despite interest from both Monaco and Sunderland, the Nerazzurri believe that their good relations with Jose Mourinho may help give them the edge in bringing the player to Milan.

Zouma made 24 appearances for Les Verts last season despite receiving a 10 match ban for a horror tackle which broke the leg of Sochaux’s Thomas Guerbert.

The links with Zouma and other central defenders are fuelled by the continuing uncertainty surrounding the futures of Andrea Ranocchia and Rolando.

Ranocchia has still not signed a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2015, and Juventus are believed to be ready to pounce on the Italian international while Rolando has returned to Porto following his loan with a fee still not agreed between the Milanese and the Portugese giants.
