Stefan Savic leads Cristian Zapata, Shkodran Mustafi and Matija Nastasic as the list of defenders wanted by Juventus gets smaller.

New Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is believed to have specifically asked for a central defender to compliment his options, with Angelo Ogbonna seen to be on the way out, and the Old Lady have narrowed down the list to the four young defenders, all with experience of Serie A football.

According to Tuttosport, Savic is the closest to being brought in, with Juventus currently in negotiations with the Montenegro internationals club, Fiorentina, over a player plus cash deal for the former Manchester City defender, with Chilean international Mauricio Isla being used as a makeweight in the deal.

Isla is wanted throughout Europe with Premier League sides Newcastle and Southampton as well as French side Marseille and Spanish champions Atletico Madrid all known admirers, but Isla seems keen to move to Florence, with guaranteed first team football all but assured with La Viola.

Surprisingly though, La Gazzetta dello Sport report that coach Allegri has asked specifically for Colombian Cristian Zapata, who he signed for previous club AC Milan in 2012, but Juventus are seen to be reluctant to sign the 27 year old, with an exciting defender under 25 believed to be the priority.

Manchester City’s Serbian international Matija Nastasic and Sampdoria’s German World Cup winner Shkodran Mustafi are both long term targets for the Bianconeri but seem less likely to join at this point in time.
