Juventus continue to target Cagliari defender

Juventus have there sights set on Cagliari defender Davide Astori as new boss Massimiliano Allegri starts a new era at the Turin club.

The 27 year old has been in good form for the Sardinian club for the past couple of season and indeed turned down a move to Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow in July 2012 after the clubs agreed a €15 million fee for the player.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Allegri has expressed his wishes to the Bianconeri hierarchy to sign the player.

In the past week though, the seven timed capped Italian international was strongly linked with a move to Lazio and a deal was said to be close, with Cagliari looking for a fee of around €8m.

The former AC Milan youth team player has appeared 140 times for the Rossoblu scoring two goals and if a move to the Old lady was to materialize he would complete with the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci for a place in there starting eleven.
