Manchester City’s Matija Nastasic is being courted by Juventus as they look to bolser their defence for the forthcoming Serie A season, according to reports.

Nastasic was a stand-out performer in his debut season at the Etihad Stadium under ex-manager Roberto Mancini, but has seen his place lost following struggles with form and fitness under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.

It has now emerged that the 21-year-old could be on his way back to Italy, two years after arriving from Fiorentina, reports La Stampa, as Pellegrini prefers Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis, while City remain in talks with Roma to sign Mehdi Benatia.

However, it remains unclear at this point whether Pellegrini will be willing to sell Nastasic as the club have already sold Joleon Lescott to West Bromwich Albion and Benatia is not a guaranteed recruit.
