It was not only the departure of coach Antonio Conte that Juventus were having to cope with on Tuesday evening after it was reported that the club had failed in their attempts to bring Hellas Verona starlet Juan Manuel Iturbe to Turin for the upcoming season.

While the loss of the man that brought the Bianconeri a hat-trick of Serie A titles over the last three seasons will possibly be a bigger hurdle to overcome the inability to secure the services of the Argentinean who shone on the Gialloblu’s return is a blow.

A deal to sign the 21-year-old had apparently looked sealed with reports that he had agreed personal terms with the club, however, Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed that Juventus owner Andrea Agnelli has failed to reach an agreement with his club.

On Hellas Verona’s return to Serie A the former Porto attacker helped the club to an impressive 10th place finish with eight goals in 33 league appearances.
