Leeds United are thought to be interested in signing ex-Siena defender Fabrizio Grillo.

The Yorkshire side were linked with the 27-year-old in June but the player will now definitely be looking for a new club following his release by the Robur after Siena were declared bankrupt in July.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Leeds are again keen on taking Grillo to Elland Road.

The player himself also spoke about his future addressed his disappointment at seeing Siena go bankrupt.

“In January we were not expecting it [bankruptcy], all the payments were made,” said Grillo to TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

“Right up until the end we hoped a magical saviour would arrive to rescue the club but unfortunately that didn’t happen.”

“There was a month of silence, it was very unpleasant but none of them knew what to say to us.

“I’m especially sorry for all the employees.

“Siena are living in a nightmare and I’m sorry about that.”

Grillo also addressed his future more directly as he looks to find a new club.

“I have offers in Italy but I’m glad because there are also a couple from England, one of them concrete,” he said.

“They are talking of an offer that would be almost irresistibile.”

Grillo joined Varese on loan in January and the club survived a relegation playoff during his time with the Leopardi.
