Liverpool are looking to hijack a move for Manchester United top target and Juventus star Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean international who is coming off an impressive performance at the World Cup has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United as manager Louis van Gaal looks to strengthen his midfield for next season.
According to reports from The Daily Star, Liverpool are expected to make a bid around €45 million for the 27-year-old as The Reds boss Brendan Rodgers looks to continue his big spending this summer after the €94m departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
If Juventus should part ways with Vidal he may prefer a move to Anfield over Old Trafford as Liverpool’s stronger finish to the 2013-2014 Premiere League campaign would provide the Chilean star with Champions League football next season.
Vidal managed to score 18 times in 46 appearances last season despite typically playing as a defensive midfielder for the Bianconeri.
