Manchester United’s Juan Mata wished former teammate Patrice Evra good luck as the latter embarks on a new adventure with Juventus.

With the arrival of Luke Shaw from Southampton, former vice-captain Evra had been deemed surplus to requirements and subsequently moved to Juventus for a fee that could rise to €1.5million.

Juan Mata took to Twitter to wish Evra as his former teammate at Manchester United signed a two-year deal with the Old Lady. He tweeted, “Thanks for everything and good luck Pat.”

Evra had signed a one-year contract extension in May with his old deal set to expire this summer. He had been a United player since January, 2006 making 379 appearances and helping United win five Premier League titles, three League Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup.
