Inter coach Walter Mazzarri believes the Nerazzurri’s first game of the new Serie A season against Torino will be a difficult test for his side.

The fixture list for the upcoming campaign was released on Monday evening, with the Nerazzurri due to face the Granata at the Stadio Olimpico in Turin on Sunday August 31, and Mazzarri maintains it will be a hard opening fixture for Inter.

“It is one of the most challenging games in Serie A, against a proven team that ended last season on a high, qualifying for the Europa League,” the 52-year-old told the club’s official website.

“In our league all games have hidden pitfalls and are all very demanding.”

The first Milan derby will take place on Sunday November 23 with Inter scheduled to be the away team, whilst the season’s first meeting with Juventus will take place on Tuesday January 6, again with the Nerazzurri playing away from home first.

“They are the great, classic games. The Derby comes a bit earlier compared to last season, with Juve instead towards the end of the round, whereas last season we faced them in the first few games.

“They are particularly prestigious games with great charm but it does not matter when they come because we are aware that sooner or later you have to play everyone.”
