Mexes – AC Milan

Philippe Mexes has claimed that he is calm over his future and wants to stay with AC Milan to help revive the team’s fortunes.

The French international has been linked with a move away from the San Siro following some poor displays last season as part of a Rossoneri side that could only manage a lowly eighth-place finish.

Mexes though told Sky Sport Italia that there is no concrete truth in these rumours and that he is happy to stay at the club under new coach Filippo Inzaghi.

“They say I’m going to the right and to the left, but there is nothing concrete [in the speculation],” the Frenchman said.

“I have been here for many years and have adapted to the situation. I am calm and I will respect my contract.

“Beyond the money I always put in maximum effort on the field. I like the desire and the mentality of this club, as well as its objectives.

“I want to revive Milan; I do not like to see the club in so much trouble.”

The 32-year-old has made 87 appearances in all competitions for the Diavolo since joining from Roma in 2011.
