AC Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has leapt to the defence of coach Filippo Inzaghi after the Rossoneri’s heavy 5-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

Despite falling in heavy fashion to Olympiacos only last week, Muntari told AC Milan Channel that the club are focused on preparing for the start of the season.

“We are doing well in training, the ideas of the coach are positive for us players. We can get to the top, I have so much confidence in the things he (Inzaghi) is doing,” Muntari stated.

We are concentrating our strength on the start of the season. This year we must lower our heads. We must put our feet on the ground and work.

“Inzaghi does not like to lose matches but we will be ready for the start of the season.

“Inzaghi knows how we can win. It is not his fault, it is not the fault of anyone as we are training and growing. We must continue to work hard.”
