Marek Hamsik - NapoliMarek Hamsik is looking forward to a successful campaign at the San Paolo and believes the Partenopei have everything it takes to compete for the Scudetto and to go deep into European competition.

The 26-year old midfielder spoke at a press conference on Sunday at the club’s pre-season training facility in Dimaro where preparations have begun early in anticipation of the Champions League play-off only a month away.

“We finished behind Juventus and Roma last year and they accomplished some extraordinary things, but we don’t feel inferior to anyone,” Hamsik stated.

“We lacked some consistency last year, especially in January when results didn’t go our way.

“I have to play better personally and help my team do even better than we did last year.

“We have to always aim high:  win the Scudetto, the Coppa Italia and go deep into the Champions League. This team is ready to give it their all and achieve great things.”

“I want to win, as we all do, because it would be a tremendous accomplishment for this city. We’ll need to play a near-perfect season or it won’t happen but we’re a strong team and are aiming to reach the maximum this season.”
