Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas believes his team should be proud of what they have achieved during the 2014 World Cup.

The Ticos got as far as the quarter-finals for the first time in their history before they succumbed to the Netherlands on penalties.

However the 27-year-old Levante shot-stopper believes his international team-mates should be full of pride and see the positives despite their elimination.

“It’s been an incredible World Cup,” Navas told reporters after the match.

“Everyone thought we would be easily beaten, it was not so,”

“We should be proud of what we did.

“Today did not go well on penalties, unlike the last time, but we are all united,” he concluded.

Jorge Luis Pinto’s men performed heroically to win Group D despite the fact the odds were stacked against them and they leave Brazil having never lost a game in normal time.
