New Galatasaray coach Cesare Prandelli has reportedly canceled a friendly with Roma that was set to take place on August 19th.
The former Italian national team coach, who led his side to a second place finish at Euro 2012, decided to call it quits after his side’s surprise early exit from the World Cup group stage in Brazil this summer.
Il Tempo reports that Prandelli wants to let time pass before he returns to Italy as he believes he would have been in store for a hostile reception from the Italian fans at the Stadio Olimpico after a disappointing World Cup campaign.
The former Parma, Roma and Fiorentina coach only recently took over for the Turkish giants replacing former Italian coach Roberto Mancini.
