Michu NapoliNew Napoli forward Michu is ready to lead the club to glory next season after being officially unveiled as the Azzurri’s latest signing.

The Spanish international, who completed a loan move to Napoli from Premier League side Swansea City, has been a long time target of Napoli coach Rafael Benitez.

Michu spoke about his new club and their ambitions to build on a successful 2013-2014 Serie A campaign to the Azzurri’s official website.

“In Italy there are many strong treams such as Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina, Inter, and Milan,” Michu stated at his unveiling.

“The most important thing will be to fight for the top and being among the favourite teams for the qualifying run. I would like to score as many goals as I can but what I really want is to help the team in the defensive sector as well.

“I feel comfortable behind the first forward but I’m here to play wherever Benitez will decide.

“It’s a crucial moment in my career. I realized how strong Napoli is playing with the squad and in my opinion Benitez is one of the best coaches in the world and it will be an honour to work with him.

“He loves to control the offensive game and I think that is the right track to express our qualities.”

Michu also spoke on his own personal expectations this season and addressed his current physical condition after returning from injury.

“I feel fine. I’m working hard and I have fully recovered after my injury and it’s time to move on.

“I know that the Italian championship is different compared to the Spanish or English ones and I want to be perfectly fit in order to help the team.

“Above all I want to work hard to reach my best run of form and then I want to win and rekindle the fans’ enthusiasm. I’ve been here for just a week and I’m glad to be part of this winning run.”
