Alberto Gilardino has officially joined Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande from Genoa for an undisclosed fee.

The 2006 World Cup winner was Genoa’s top scorer in the 2012/13 season with 15 goals in all competitions, but has decided to move on in a transfer which will see him reunite with former coach Marcello Lippi.

Guangzhou Evergrande’s official website announced Gilardino’s move on Friday, whilst also stating that it was for an undisclosed fee.

The website also stated that the striker is due to link up with the club in the coming days, joining former Bologna teammate Alessandro Diamanti who signed for the Chinese club in February 2014.

Gilardino has been capped fifty-seven times by the Azzurri and the former Parma, Fiorentina, and Milan star scored nineteen goals in fifty appearances for Il Grifone.
