Real Madrid’s Asier Illarramendi is reported to be a target for Inter as they try and solidify their midfield for next season.

With Yann M’Vila set to arrive from Rubin Kazan in the coming days, focus has now switched to a second defensive minded midfielder and 24 year old Illarramendi has emerged as a new target.

Sportitalia report this morning that Inter boss Walter Mazzarri has asked for a second defensive midfielder to work with M’Vila and, despite previous interest in Real player Casemiro, it seems the recent availability of Illarramendi has caught the coaches eye.

Los Blancos seem to be on the verge of adding Toni Kroos to their star studded squad and reports in Spain indicate that Illarramendi’s inconsistent first season at the club means they are willing to listen to loan offers for the young Spaniard.

The biggest problem to such a deal would be the players €2 million a year wages, which the Nerazzurri would be reluctant to pay.

Its reported that Inter are closing in on Chilean midfielder Gary Medel and so Illarramendi is more likely a back up option in case complications occur in that deal.
