The Serie A fixtures are set to be released later on Monday with a special show beginning on Sky Sport Italia at 1845 CET.

The season is set to begin on August 31, with the final round of matches being played on May 31, 2015.

However there are a number of criteria affecting the selection of matches and these are as follows.

1) Home and away matches:
  • In the last four matchdays, home games will alternate with away games;
  • There can be no more than two couplings of consecutive games at home and/or away per half of the season;
  • In case there are two couplings of consecutive games at home and/or away, one of the couplings must necessarily be at home and the other away
  • The following clubs cannot both play at home in the same round: Chievo-Hellas Verona, Genoa-Sampdoria, Inter-Milan, Juventus-Torino, Lazio-Roma, Parma-Sassuolo
  • In every possible case, other events of special importance in the city or around the stadium have been taken into account (see below: “Reports of the National Observatory on Sports Events of the Ministry of the Interior “)
  • In the cities having two clubs (Genoa, Milan, Rome and Verona), the order of the home debut is reversed compared to  the 2013-2014 season
  • The club who played the last game of Serie A 2013-14 away must play their first match at home.
2) Pairings of the clubs in order to determine individual matches:
  • In midweek rounds it is not possible to have meetings between the clubs Inter, Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Roma, nor the local derbies of Genoa, Rome, Turin and Verona
  • The local derbies in Genoa, Milan, Roma, Turin and Verona are not possible in the first nor last round and must be played in different rounds from each other
  • Apart from the points above, there are no ‘seeds’ in the draw, so every club can meet on the first day as well as the last
  • There can be no round repeated (same game in the same week) from the 2013-14 calendar
  • Teams who also met in the first round in 2012-13 and 2013-14, regardless of the home / away order, cannot meet again in the first round of 2013-14
  • Teams who also met in the last round in 2012-13 and 2013-14, regardless of the home / away order, cannot meet again in the first round of 2013-14
  • Clubs participating in the UEFA Champions League(Juventus, Roma and Napoli) cannot face clubs participating in the Europa League(Fiorentina, Inter and Torino), in the days falling between a round of UEFA Europa League matches on Thursday and also on the days the next round of the UEFA Champions League takes place(5th, 8th, 12th and 16th day).
