Roma have contacted Porto defender Rolando about a move to the Olimpico but Adem Ljajic may leave following the arrival of Juan Iturbe.

Rolando spent last season on loan at Inter, making twenty nine appearances in a successful spell, but the Nerazzurri have struggled to secure a permanent deal with Porto, which has allowed Roma to make a move.

TuttoMercatoWeb report that Roma director Walter Sabatini has made contact with Rolando’s representatives to inquire about the player, who is currently trying to rescind the final year of his contract with Porto.

The deal would represent something of a coup given Inter’s continuing negotiations with the player and club, and would add much needed depth to Roma’s defensive ranks.

Ljajic’s future has been unclear all summer, with the player drifting in and out of the first team last season following his move from Fiorentina.

With Gervinho, Florenzi, Totti, Destro and now Iturbe, it is believed that Roma will try and move the player on to recoup some funds, with Borussia Dortmund and Schalke both believed to be interested in the Serbian forward.

Roma have all but completed the €31 million signing of Argentine winger Juan Manuel Iturbe in the biggest deal of the summer in Serie A so far.
