Roma have joined the hunt for Penarol and Uruguayan wonderkid Kevin Mendez.
The 18 year old is regarded as one of the hottest young attacking talents in South America, and many elite European clubs have been tracking his progress over the last year.
Tuttomercatoweb reveal that Roma director Walter Sabatini has been scouring the world for young talents, and Mendez is one of the names that has fallen on his radar.
The capital club will have to compete with Chelsea, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina and QPR if they are to win the race for his signature however.
Reports suggest that the Penarol star is valued at around €6 million, which shouldn’t be a problem for potential suitors.
